Can't really answer your question - our tour chairman made the arrangements with Taylor Made Motors to rebuild the engine so don't know why it doesn't come with the distributor, carb, water pump or starter.
Even without those items the retail value of the balanced inserted main bearing engine with a Snyder high compression head is $5,000 and is worth trying to win. The missing parts should be easily obtained if you are the lucky winner!
