Re: Most-asked question about your Model A?
I pretty much get all the above questions. I am answer them politely, even though there's a thousand smart^$@s answers going through my head. A friendship starts with a conversation, and a conversation starts with a question. An old Irish proverb is 'A stranger is a friend you have not yet met'. So I answer the questions, they may be dumb to me, but if you don't know, you ask, so they're not dumb to those who don't know. When I was in the RAAF, I would have to support the aircraft at airshows every so often. There is a whole list of dumb airshow questions that get asked as well.
Reminds me of when some JSDF personal were visiting the RAAF's ARDU, this was told to me by a mate who was posted there at the time. ARDU still had four Dakotas as flying testbeds for different components etc.
JSDF "Ahh, DC-3, museum flight?"
Mate "No, actual line aircraft, still flying"
JSDF "Flying museum, very nice"
Mate "No, still active aircraft"
JSDF "Aussie make funny joke" and then caught up with the rest of the group, having a little giggle to himself.
