Re: Page 66 in Antique Automobile 180A
Thank you Brent ,,and i did speak to the owner of the car you speak about at Tenn. He was surprised to win that award since i scored 97 points over his car at French Lick meet.My car for the past 3 years have been picked for the National Award ,,3 straight years and yes I KNOW FIRST HAND HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS .... In 1991 my 1930 Standard Roadster scored 399 at the Grand National meet at that same meet i JUDGED 1928/29 Model "A's. We as a team judged a 1929 coupe from Maryland and as a TEAM said to one another how did this car pass for a senior award ???? Well the CHIEF JUDGE told us to help this car along to at least make it to a third place...38 POINTS WERE TAKEN OFF ...and we stopped at that. Guess who won the FORD AWARD THAT YEAR....??? THE 1929 COUPE from Maryland and where did the CHIEF judge come from [MARYLAND] He claimed that my windshield wiper hardware should of been chromed and not Nickle plated at the Hershey meet.... So on a stack of Bibles and the soul of my Daughter i am telling the truth how it went down.I really don't care if you believe me or not, but this is fact. And as for knowing the score THE TEAM CAPTAIN [in 1991]told me my score .. I have been judging since 1979 and i do know a few judges on most teams. No they do not throw me a bone ! but people do find out their scores...
