Max, I too had a similar situation when I first got my 46 coupe. It turned out to be a couple of loose bolts that hold the casing around the universal joint. After snugging them down (and 2 busted knuckles)

the rattle was resolved. I still periodically check to be sure nothing has loosened. Hope you are able to resolve. Steve
