I mean no disrespect by this but...can you back that up with a reference? I have often wondered about this and have never been able to find any actual law pertaining to it. All I have been able to find is that call centers for regulated businesses, such as mortgages etc must be done on US soil.
I know there have been attempts in the past to create laws similar to what you suggest but most of them have never gone anywhere.
There was a widely circulated chain letter a couple years back saying what you said and because of it, it actually forced a lot of businesses to create policy to transfer customers back to the US simply because people believed what they read in the email and were adamant they talk to a person in the US because it was "law" and it was just easier for the companies to appease the customers instead of angering them.
