About the same time, I negotiated a deal to purchase the old Bellbuckle garage in Bellbuckle, TN. Bellbuckle is a tourist town with lots of old stores, lots of weekend craft fairs, Moon Pie festivals, etc. I planned to restore it, install a couple of glass globe pumps, install above ground tanks and sit around in my overalls, with my Bassett Hounds, the 40 pickup parked there-----and sell gas on the weekends---for a slight premium---and let the folks take pictures of me too!

The EPA nixed the whole deal!!!!! The original tanks are still in the ground and before the property can be sold, the tanks must be removed!!!!! The cost of removal made the cost impossible to absorb! Soooooo, the building is still sitting there, with new siding----and will continue to sit there until someone comes up with the $80+K or the EPA relaxes their rulings.

Now, I have gotten almost too old!

Don't wait until the EPA relaxes their standards. Even the dirt, around the tanks, has to disposed of, as hazardous material.
