Default Re: 36 pickup windshield seal

Brendan, I just recently put an outer windshield gasket/seal in my '35 fordor. I had to take the windshield completely off and remove the old gasket that had only been on the WS frame of that car a few years. IT was a stiff piece of crap to begin with and was not doing a good job of sealing. I bought a Bob Drake gasket with contoured corners. Pulled the old gasket right out, cleaned up the groove/slot, and installed the new gasket in about 10 minutes using wooden popsicle sticks. I coated the new Drake gasket with baby powder before installing. I did all this on the kitchen table (with the wife's permission of course ) I could never have done it that easily with the windshield mounted in the car.
