Re: "model a saved my life"
"MINERVA," my black '30 coupe saved my life as a great distraction while caring for my dear wife, Pat, for 8 1/2 years with dementia. Pat loved to ride in Minerva up into the Sierra foothills. After getting her into a great care home, I had a bad reaction to some muscle relaxant pills and was a hallucinating, cukoo, nut-cake for 3 1/2 weeks while they tried to get that crap out of my system. Sorta like trying to get rust out of our water jackets.
In and out of reality. Aha! Minerva to the rescue to help me keep my "marbles" and to keep them straight. I would recall staring at her red wheels, or seeing my reflection in the back of her headlight and this would help pull me back to some resemblance of "reality."
I vividly remember lots of Wild hallucinations, enough to fill a book, it's title would be, "TO HELL AND BACK BY THE SKIN OF MY FENDER."
