Shelly has re-opened the CHEVYBARN and has a "non-Chevy" section. Some of the OLD FORDBARNERS are posting back on there, because they miss the personal connection.
Me, I'm surfing them both.

Honestly, it's just as easy to make "personal connections" on this format as it would be on the old. People just have to take the time to read and use the appropriate reply-types when posting. It's just as easy to make a chit-chat thread here as it is on the old format, and it's just as easy to derail a thread with off-topic information there as it is here.

I'm on other forums for off-topic vehicles, and other interests, that use this same bulletin board format. In the 10+ years I've been on them, some pretty good friendships have been made. I've actually made cross-country trips because of it.

It all comes down to how much effort people are willing to put in to it. You can either whine and mope around, or put forth the effort to make contributions that make the Ford Barn a better place.

And, as a general FWIW, there were just as many smart-asses on the old format as there are here (or on the HAMB, percentage wise). It's not an influx of "people from the HAMB" that is the problem.
