I installed an alternator on my 55 Ford with the 272. The bracket was a little sloppy but overall a good swap. I generally get 7.4 to 7.6V and it cleaned up the engine bay. Just one wire to run it and no regulator. I did upgrade to a 6 gauge wire for charging.
