Ya know, we both came from familes with food on the table and a warm place to sleep, but none of the extras, so to speak. We just had a reception at the church with cake and ice cream. I doubt that cost anything as the church ladies provided the labor. My gal made the brides maid dresses and paid for her own wedding dress possibly around $50. June 6th, 1965 and went on our overnight honeymoon driving my 1964 blue Fairlane 289 4 speed that I bought for $1875 and my 55 Chevy 283 4 speed. We have yet to have a car that new. 2 new Harleys but the most money ever spent on a car was 21K, until a couple weeks ago. An that one is older than me by a bunch and not even on the road for a while. Can you imagine a beautiful girl that in 61 years has never questioned my hobby! I do remember that she was sad when I sold that Fairlane and bought another 55 Chevy because I did not like car payments. Our 61 years have been WONDERFUL !!
