[Mike/Franklin]

I would really like to find a 42-47 truck and attach it. Have a 39 dump and 39 large panel.
My very first recollections of a truck ride was our 42 Ford pickup that dad bought in 1948 and kept until 1954 or so. Then one morning he stopped by the house in his companies 46 Ford dump. At age 77, as of yesterday, I still remember the sound of the starter, the clutter of stuff in the cab, standing on the seat so see out of the windshield, the sound of the V8, the shift lever moving in an arc from side to side between dad and I, the snick of the transmission when dad changed gears and the truck wandering from one side of the road to the other whenever he hit a bump. Between the bumpy WPA road and the worn out spring shackles, it was a memorable ride. I'd buy one in a minute and install that guard, paint the bumper red like that one had and relive that first BIG truck ride at age 5. I'm still looking for one like it. Maybe this year? ML
