The ferrule of the original fitting made especially for the use on the Stromberg is not just a short ferrule like all suppliers now sell, IMHO. The ferrule is longer and feeds back into the fitting like a sleeve. It is not like a separate nut and ferrule. With the proper fitting you can put the fitting/ferrule on the carburetor and then push the fuel line from the pump until it bottoms in the carburetor and then tighten the nut. The same fitting works on the pump if memory is serving me today. LOL
