Default Re: 34 trip

Rest day today in Cobar, this was and stillis a big mining area,
visited the mining museum, man those old miners were tough, the ladies as well. this was one hard place in the 1880,s,summer temps in the mid to hight 40,s.
We went for a walk up and down town, and got some groceries.
Took all the stuff out of the trunk(boot), and put the now dry carpet back in,also checked the gearbox oil ( full and clean), put a small biy in the steering box,was going to check the diff, but it was all dry around and i did not bring the spanner,so took it as OK.
Man ,we are not used to,the cold here,(3c and felt like 0C) over night.hence the AC set on 24 C ,
I was going to take thengood tyre off the cracked rim and transfer it onto the one on the car,but as i needed a tyre shop to do it and they would not put the 3/4 worn tyre back on the cracked rim,i decided to leave it as it is.
An intresting thing is ,when stopping the car ,lots of little birds get underneath and feed on the bugs, grasshoppers and butterflys that stuck under the car on the sump, chassis etc.
Tomorrow were off to bourke for the night ,(160 ks)then on to Lightening ridge (320ks)for a few days, to have a look around, i will, get some pics from there S its like nothing you ever saw.
Also will try to get some from the drone.
I have said it before on this trip, these old rockets must have been a revalation in their day,to still do the miles in the last few days at 50-55m with nothing between towns ,just humming along,
