Thanks for your feedback. The cylinder dimensions overall are the same as the one I want to remove. However, there is only 1 hole in the socket where the lock cylinder resides and it is at the key end. If the lock pin at the far end of the cylinder were not there it would fit like a silk glove. I'm going to hold off making any mods to anything until I know more or find another lock cylinder and keys.
