Re: Read: One Last Model A Drive Together
Ahhhh....A495. It took 9 years to finish that restoration. It was top point car when judges three times (2 MARC, 1 MAFCA). It spent two years at the MAFFI museum. Between those two years, I brought it out to the MAFCA meet in Colorado and the MARC meet in Perryville. I wanted people to see up close the unique features of the early cars.
When the time was up at MAFFI, I brought A495 to my place in Montana. Since we are surrounded by pastures and farms, there was always the potential danger of mice, voles, raccoons, etc.. To protect it in my shop I kept it in a trailer. At times I would bring it out, and have a beer or two. But that was no life for my friend, A495.
It is now part of the Stan and Mary Sorrels collection. Though it is a ve28 living with a number of '30 and '31's, I am sure that it is happy. And so am I.
