Never having anything so new as a 37 (LOL), what is it about 37 up that a small combination box/open end will not do the job? My 37 engine has water pump block off plates. Is it the water pumps that make it difficult?

With the water pump in the block and the pulley sticking out as well as the crank pulley sticking out from the block, space on the lower distributor bolt is limited, especially length wise and the ability to get much “throw” with a wrench or anything with a longer handle to it. I just find having this “short” wrench as well as a flex head is super easy to deal with over using a small 1/4 ratchet and socket or a “standard” 1/2 combination wrench
