I'm not far behind you at 60, I often wonder just buying parts for the cars I have now, IF I am not wasting my money as neither of my Kids have any interest in them. There are SO many factors that fall into why we are here at this point, I can tell you from my perspective and "finally" getting to a point in my life where I have time to work on them....my problems up to now....

The overall economics... Having a family, mortgage, insurance etc etc from about 1993 till now.....IT took the efforts of two incomes to stay in our "JOB's" (just over broke) as inflation and taxation out paced salaries...and still does!!!

Lack of time.....eaten up by raising kids and their involvement in activities with school and after school, the cost involved in that. Only having 10 days vacation time to split between the family and my personal likes!!!!

Cost of parts (still) in most cases AND the narrow sightedness to think that between original and REPRO (NOT REPOP) parts will be around "when times comes".

Cost of vehicles relative to the ability to have the expendable income to acquire them.

NOW, in many cases, the cost of shipping is more than the cost of the part SO even at a good price, you basically are doubling the cost, especially IF you are outside the U S or having it shipped INTO the U S

Just to scratch the surface.
