The museum was a hidden secret in Chicago. It was housed in the plant that printed Playboy magazine for decades and that was how the founder of the museum made his money. They honored the building's past in one of the restrooms which made it abundantly clear before you walked in that it was for 18 and older.
The museum also served as an exhibit space for the Richard Driehaus collection as they would display some of the vehicles from his incredible collection on a temporary basis.
What isn't shown well in the auction photos is the amazing amount of automobilia and petrolina on display throughout the building.
Unfortunately the auction is the same weekend as Model A Day's at the Gilmore, otherwise I would attend.
