That would make sense, what does not is the mix of '36 drum with later hub.
One thing I didn't mention is that I have the rear end from that same donor car and it's stamped 72 as in V8-72 which is '36.
And the guy who parted out the Matford clearly stated it was a '36 V8-72 because he had a '37 he beautifully restored and bought the junked one for parts, those were left over and he was cleaning up the shack and no he didn't swap his front axle.
I understand that the junked '36 could have end up in it's life with a '37 front axle, but the drums should be smooth, not finned and not stamped 68.
So unless Matford decided for unknown reasons toward the end of production of the'36 to mix and match parts for the upcoming '37 line, I really can't understand what's going on here.


Anyway I start to realize that I'm overthinking that thing.


Sheldon, not far from where I live I know of a '47 Ford F472, the guy took the engine out maybe 20 years ago and he's still working on that engine from time to time.
