I sold my pony, a buckboard and a buggy my father and I had restored, took the $100 and bought a rusted stripped out coupe and enough parts to make it look like a car. That was summer of 1966. By Christmas, we had it nitro lacquered and in May of 67 showed it at the Winchester Apple Blossom Festival. That as my first car show as a participant. Skipped my Senior Prom to go to Winchester. Restoring that coupe with my father was the best time of my life.
