Model Ts respond well to a high compression head but they need to be in fairly good condition to start out in that direction. I thought that a Ruckstell axle was not an overdrive unit for extra top speed. Isn't it actually an underdrive to give you an intermediate gear? It comes in handy on those uphill roads where it won't make it in high gear and low gear is too low and holding that pedal down is a chore.
