I repaired a similar break in a Corvette vent window handle about 20 years ago and expected it to break right away. It is still good. And no, it wasn't on the passenger side so it gets turned once in a while.
If brazing doesn't work, try something like "Muggy-Weld". I've had some successes with it, and some failures. I think it has to do with how well the alloys in the filler and base metal match.
If all else fails, place a "Wanted Ad" in the "Swap Meet" section. I'll bet there are a bunch of these out there in drawers, on shelves, etc.
