[Dorf55]

I have a 55 ford Fairlane and need to remove the column shifter and put in a floor shift.
What is the simplest and easiest way to remove the shifter tube from the column ? The car and interior are in finish paint.
If I don't remove shifter tube what suggestions do you have ?
