Ford made the T16 universal carrier for the USA, and the Bren Gun carrier for Canada.
Both flathead v8's, and both were light armor, whereas the Studebaker Weasel was thin skinned and amphibious. T16's steered with two levers, Bren's had a steering wheel.

I had 2 T16's, one cut down for a log skidder that ran, and one with pretty complete armor
to be restored, which sadly never happened , too many projects, and they were sold.
