I was doing the same to my seat and happen to have a very similar same year parts car seat.
I was able to remove some of the springs and transfer them over to my seat.

I would say check local ads for people parting out similar era cars and get a whole seat for parts or check a junk yard.

I would 52- to about 56 Ford should work for you.

welding springs is also a finicky process since it spring steel.
