Re: fuel pump delete
Hi the answer to your question is Yes. When you remove the fuel pump push rod you need to plug the pushrod hole in the block. Without a fuel pump push rod in the hole there's a rather large leak in the main oil feed system of the engine.
Measure the diameter of the pump push rod then usually what's done find a short bolt with solid shoulder the same diameter. Put that in the push rod hole with some good grade RTV placed just under the head of the bolt that will add additional sealing so no oil leaks out..
