You have the near ultimate combination in my opinion: more cubic inches, carefully set quench with iron heads, factory cam, factory carb, factory distributor. I bet you get great gas mileage too.

Thanks ! That was exactly what I was aiming for . Nothing more, nothing less. I think all of us working together did a fine job o seeing that through. I do hope I've become more adept at building engines than I am at creating and posting youtube videos. I have so far spent 2 1/2 hours tring to get this thing posted. My internet connection is through a telephone line burried in the ground in 1978. To say it's slow is a gross understatement. The video was originally about 2 minutes longer but perhaps it wasn't done loading when I gave in and pushed the button. so if this link even works you'll see about 50% of this morning's video. I'm hoping the critics will say it isn't half bad. I will do a part 2 with us goin' down the road.
Edit: I was trying to edit down the address upon Marts suggestion, but apparently went too far. Oh well, everything in that video can be seen in the two that my son made today. Good thing he lives nearby to help, or I woulda torn out what hair I have left by now.
