I went with the 4GC because of it's simplicity (applying the KISS philosophy). At one time I toyed with the idea of the “Teapot” but rejected the idea because like all Ford type carbs of the era very complicated and lack of ethanol friendly parts.
Hollys do not sit well for long periods without drying out and shrinking of the metering and bowl gaskets.
I’ve rebuilt the 4GC 3 or 4 times in 35 years, once during the ethanol changeover, moving all the fuel lines to the 30R9 spec and a couple of altitude changes and tuning.
