I can understand not wanting to guarantee it but I don’t understand what happens that makes it fail. I just repaired one and pinned it and installed a new valve seat. I pressure tested it full of water with 50 PSI of air supplied and no leaks. I’ve seen my long time machinist repair many of them . Some of them been running more than twenty years. A friend of mine brought me an assembled short block for me to bolt on the heads, etc for his car that came from a well known builder on the west coast. I noticed it had been repaired in a couple of valve seats with pins and it looked like an old repair. That was six years ago and it’s still running fine.
