Mine came with a 4 blade steel fan installed. In 90*f weather, with the car fully warmed up, if you sat and idled for a few minutes the temp gauge would read ~175*F. I ended up replacing it with the 6 blade fan because the 4 blade had a little wobble to it. Didn't seem like it was well balanced, it was probably a cheap reproduction one installed decades ago by the previous owner.
Under the same condition (90*f weather, warmed up and idle for a few), it sits right at 165*f. Hottest I ever drove it so far was 101*f and it never got above 175*f. That and the engine seemed to run smoother since the plastic fan is a lot lighter than the steel ones.
