And it actually goes beyond that. All look for the ID MARK on a 312 C/S and if there assume the engine is a 312. It may be a 312 crank was used on a 292 making it a stroker.

If you want to be 100% sure of what you actually have and intend to rebuild/modify is to put it on a forensics table.
