If you dig into the background paperwork from mallory they list 2 filters [ 1 at the coil and 1 inline at the distributor]that they say are mandatory for generators and recommended for alternators , as for which coil follow mallorys recomendation [no warranty dramas ] and recheck the wiring instalation is critical [i have run my ignition directly from the battery via a relay in an attempt to get the smoothest voltage i can AGAIN Electronics dont like spikes .
