Great question. I am glad you asked because I learned something. I had just looked at the bore and assumed the 3.62 bore pistons were for a 272. BUT, you are correct the 272/292/312 all share the same compression height.
That 3.62 bore and 1.86 compression height belong to a 256 motor.
The summit pistons I inked above DO NOT FIT A 272
FYI another oddball compression height is a 292 HD Truck motor
