Push up on the spider real good.....then you will see where the clip is really supposed to go.
That’s good advice, as I recently made that mistake of not putting the clip in the right place. Fortunately a friend came over and somehow the assembly got bumped or something, and the clip went flying. I didn’t have another, so it took about 15 minutes to find it, and then install it in the correct spot.
