Thanks for everyone’s input. It was important to me to get a idea of what the larger port might be for because the manifold I put on my engine doesn’t have it. I was honored today to be invited to join a coffee klatch of ten flathead enthusiasts discussing their flathead building/driving experiences. At 72, I was the second youngest and absolutely the least experienced. What a hoot! Besides what has been already mentioned, the group suggested the possibility someone had a PVC setup. The takeaway for me was that I don’t need that port. Thanks, again to everyone, Bergie.
