I used a stock gooseneck, just drilled a hole on the back side (towards the firewall), tapped some threads for the sending unit fitting and JB welded it in. The gooseneck is a bit thin there so be careful. I have seen some sending units that are a bit long & will bottom out on the front side so check your clearance before drilling the hole. You can back the fitting a thread or two then JB it. Some fellows put it on the side but it is in the way of torqueing the head nut there.
