My personal experience is that stock AA braking is just fine, even when loaded up.
You don't need an overdrive, 40 is fast enough in an AA unless you have a pile of wheels and tires to play with to find some that run perfectly true, otherwise your front fenders will be shaking like a gorilla on a coconut tree as you near 50 mph on a downhill grade. Most guys are just happy to find rims that aren't rotted out, any wobble they might have is way down the list when searching for good AA wheels. That's the main reason I think an OD in an AA isn't worth fooling with. Enjoy the ride and to hell with the guy behind you.
