Re: What Made You Choose The Model T Over the A
When I was about 4 or 5 years of age, there was an old farmhouse just down the road from where we lived.
We would walk down to the farm and talk to the farmer who was old at the time.
There was an old farmhouse and I recall trick or treating there at Halloween with my brothers and other kids from the neighbourhood.
The house was amazing as it was like time stood still there.
They had a porcelain kitchen sink with a cast iron hand pump for water, well worn wooden floorboards, old style wallpaper and a hand crank phone up on the wall.
They were both such kind and welcoming people.
This was in the very early 1960's, a very different time from today.
I remember there were chickens, and an old white swaybacked horse in a stall, and under a lean to right next to the barn, was an old car.
Can you guess what car it was?
It was a 1926 or 27 Model T Tudor sedan!
The body was covered in a light coat of rust; the glass was mostly broken and the upholstery was in tatters.
Many years later I went back to the farm and the house was no more, and sadly, no more Model T.
Hope you all enjoyed a little trip back to childhood with me.
Regards,
Steve
