One thing I do, because I have leather on the rumble seat, is leave the rumble seat open. Gets surface mold otherwise. Dunno if that's widely applicable.

Plus, I always pull the battery out and set it on the shelf with an occasional trickle charge. I don't want the battery carrier to get corrosion on it if the battery seeps a bit.
