Re: Bear wheel Straightener 320.---359
Golly, yesterday we moved it into a new shed and coved it up. I'll get some photos as soon as I can. It weighs 1237278903 tons. It is an iron arch about 6 feet tall. In the arch is a huge hollow column. A threaded stud on top of the column holds the stack of templates and the wheel to be worked upon. We have 5 templates. One fits Model A wheels. A hydraulic jack is mounted upside down from the top of the arch and is used to push down on the hi part of the rim. At one time a rim straightening lip was attached to the side of the press. It is non functional. Also the hollow column had some kind of device inside it, which is missing. Over the years our club has straighened hundreds of Model A wheels.
Where can I find a hydraulic jack that functions upside down?
