The same thing happened on my 40. You might be better off modifying the base plate with new holes to give you the angle you desire. You could cut off the MT ears and make new ears out of washers cut to fit and weld them. That tubing kinks very easily. OR, you could carefully cut the weld around the tube and the base plate with a Dremel and re weld it to desired angle.

On my 40, I had to shorten my MT cable tubes.
