I converted my clock in our '41 and the hands were so delicate that I could not reuse them. Ended up with a battery clock(1-AA bat) from a craft store. Had to do some shimming with spacers to get the movement in the stock case to sit correctly. Made an adapter to go in place of the battery and ran wires out to a battery holder that I could get to.
