Wow that's interesting seems the other day I was helping my neighbor with a set of jumper cables and pretty sure those were not soldered.

As far as that goes the positive and negative battery cables I see for sale are all crimp end fittings like the ones on all my other vehicles, the pictured cable end is solid and will not come off besides its just for a disconnect.

Low quality? I bet the resistance through that cable is no different than if that end was soldered. Happy New Year.
