19Fordy, the problem stated in
51504bat's first post isn't an excess load that the switch can't handle. With the voltage going from 6 to 12 the current/amps/load on the switch is cut almost in half.
His concern with the dash light dimmer is actually not enough current load to dim the dash lights the same as before.
