If you are using a cell phone, there have been a lot of dropped calls nationwide. The carriers outsource and then outsource and outsource again, going for cheap. Your call goes to a tower then to a satellite out in space then bounces back to a tower somewhere may travel down a copper or fiber wire then bounced around to two or three more towers back out to space then a tower then to the destination.

The big carriers are lax at giving good service. They blame it on the local phone companies but the problem isn't there.

If you want to complain they give you an 800 GO AWAY number you can call and get some guy from the Calcutta Club that speaks ethanol laced English, that is hard to understand!

I sit on a local Broadband Co. Board and we hear this all the time. There is a movement at hand to have an oligopoly in phone service nationwide. When they get done killing the competition, you will have a choice of between three carriers that are going to jack up prices thru the roof, all of them working together.

This MAY be your problem. Chances are it is.

Welcome to the future.
