Thanks to everyone for helping me with the oil pan gasket seal. I've moved on to the oil pump pick up tube where it goes into the oil pump. Again, it's my '61' 292 Y block. The seal for this connection that comes with the oil pan gasket set(FELPRO) looks nothing like the original that I took off. It is a square edge "O" ring, about a 1/2" wide with an aluminum washer/sleeve on each side. It fits loosely on the pick up tube and when the jamb nut is tightened to the oil pump the washer/sleeves wrinkle pushing unevenly against the square edge "O" ring causing leakage. Has anyone used this pan gasket set (OS 10701 C-1) with success? I will take some pictures and post. Thanks for your time.
