Default Re: Rattling fuel pump pushrod tube

I believe he is talking about this smaller diameter formed sheet metal tube that's press fitted into the bottom of the fuel pump stand.....
.... And my answer to this question that's also asked on his previous post http://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=202758 regarding this same subject is...NO... that tube coming loose and bouncing around on the umbrella shaped part of the fuel pump rod will probably NOT affect oil pressure....but why not remove your fuel pump and fuel pump stand, fish that tube and the larger baffle tube out of the engine and fix that problem....if that's actually what's causing the rattling noise?? It would not be that difficult of a job to fix this problem IF that is really the issue.
