I'm still considering changing to a '40 column and transmission when I install the flathead this fall. I have '39 pedals (hydraulic brakes) in the '38, which includes the link to the clutch release arm attached directly to the pedal. Will this clutch release link and arm interfere with the shift rods between the column and the transmission? I know that ford went to the tab on the clutch release shaft in '40, was it to clear the shift rods? Hopefully someone here has done it and save me some experimentation.
