Default Re: V8 meet in Charlotte

When I go to a National meet I always look for a car nicer then mine which isn't hard to do. That when I learn from it. I take pictures so I won't forget what to do. That one good reason one should go to the National meet. Then the swap meet where to find what your car needs. You get to meet some really nice people that can help you with your car to improve it.I have not got my dash woodgrain yet. I am going to try to do it myself. My Maroon 39 sure is a sweet driver with the Columbia rear end. Last Sunday I drove it over 160 miles and was on the interstate for over 100 miles and kept up with traffic. When I got home I check the oil and water to see where they were.Water level was right at the cap and the oil was still on he full mark. The Maroon 39 does not half to take a back seat with all my Junkers as dad always called them.He would say Please don't bring any more junk home. Then when I did he just through up his hands and then help me with it.I sure down deep he enjoyed them also.Back then I had a 57 Chevy and when he drove it he had a big smile on his face.I have never forget that. He was hell on the gears with my 33 Ford. The good old days. Then my father in law also like to drive my Junkers. He also was a gear grinder also.He would say to me [Always called me by my last name] STEWART what are we going to do today with a smile on his face? Both are gone now and I miss them both very much.We had some good times together. So you see I surley had a good life.
